This week, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) and the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted immigration draws. Meanwhile, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) released updates on the processing of their provincial immigration streams.

In individual draws, British Columbia and Manitoba invited candidates based on their work experience, education, and participation in specific strategic recruitment initiatives.

Provincial Immigration Results (September 27 to October 4)

British Columbia

On October 2, the BCPNP conducted two immigration draws:

  • A general draw
  • A targeted draw for in-demand sectors

In the general draw, 81 candidates were invited across various immigration streams.

Below are the streams and the minimum scores for the general draw:

  • Skilled Worker: 128
  • International Graduate: 128
  • Entry Level & Semi-Skilled: 110

In the second draw, the BCPNP selected candidates with work experience in high-demand sectors of the British Columbia labor market.

Manitoba

On September 27, the MPNP conducted two immigration draws.

In the first draw, which was held under the International Education stream, 269 letters of advice to apply were issued.

The second draw targeted the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, where 79 letters of advice to apply were granted to candidates invited through a “Strategic Recruitment Initiative.” Candidates needed a minimum score of 582 to qualify for an invitation.

Out of the 348 candidates invited in both draws, 56 indicated that they had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

Alberta

This week, the AAIP released processing updates.

These updates provide information on the number of nominations issued, the remaining provincial allocation to be filled, and the current processing status for each stream. Details are outlined in the tables below:

Note: For candidates whose work permits are expiring in 2024, the AAIP is assessing these applications under the “Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates” to determine if candidates can be issued a letter of support for a work permit extension.
